Sigmund Freud’s Pedestal Desk

Artefacts and antiquities as writing tools

The Golden Siggie Desk is inspired, in spirit, by the pedestal desk owned by Sigmund Freud, who was known to his darling mother as ‘Golden Siggie’. Forever overcrowded by a smorgasbord of statuettes, smoking paraphernalia, books, papers, pens and writing materials, Freud’s desk never seemed to have enough space for his various trinkets and treasures, let alone any room for working.

A modern-day reimagining of Freud’s writing desk, the Golden Siggie provides ample space for a variety of purposes, be it dining or drawing. The polished beech table features two large drawers in its centre and a smooth leather top in caramel brown.
